What's in YOURS? Granny A Day 109 & Seeing Double!

Today is Granny A Day #109

I really did use scraps of wool / yarn today and I was nearly caught out on rows 1 & 3 when I came very close to the end of the yarn at the end of these rows!!

Phew - I got there in the end.
I will be making Granny A Day #110 tomorrow in a VERY special place, as I have been invited to a Top Secret Location for a "day out"
All will be revealed tomorrow

What's in Yours??

These pictures are of the contents of my Crochet Case

I have various sizes of Crochet Hooks
Scissors
Darning Needles
Stitch markers
A Pencil
A Ruler
Some Post It Notes
&
Sewing Needles

No you are not seeing DOUBLE

If you remember I made a Bear yesterday from my Crochet All In One Toy

However, as I have a commission for a Lion, I simply removed the Bow & added a lovely Lions Mane

And Hey Presto - another Lion!

So Bear is no longer a Bear, but a Lion instead

Granny A Day 108 & A Bear joins in the Fun

Granny A Day 108 is another variation of a "traditional" Square, however it looks very similar, but, as you can see, rows 2 & 3 are made with more trebles, so one in each stitch of the row below, instead of Granny Shells all around.
I like the effect of the finished square, don't you?

And now for the "MAIN EVENT"

Yes, a BEAR joins in the fun

He's made from the same pattern as the Lion

And the Bunny

However you don't make the Bunny Ears or Feet

Nor do you make the Lions Mane

You simply put a lovely bow around his neck and

You have a gorgeous Bear!

Thanks for reading and hope you like the new Bear!

Headless Lion & Granny A Day 106

Yes I have a Headless Lion!

He's the one I am making on commission, but I have run out of Safety Eyes!!!!
So, I will continue a little more of him tonight, up to the top area of the head, but I will remember not to stuff or close him up before the eyes have been purchased!

At least I can make the Mane and the Nose ready to sew in later, if I have the time.
Thanks to all of you have purchased Crochet All in One Toy Patterns so far and for all the GREAT feedback too!

Granny A Day 106 is here
I do love these colours together.

Hope you've all had a great Sunday & if you do stop by for a read, then why not leave a Comment or become a Follower!!
Thanks

~Friday 13th~ GAD 104 & 230 miles later

Firstly my apologies for blogging so late in the day today.

It's not because of Friday 13th, but the fact that I made a 230 mile round trip today!

WOW

Yes, I went 115 miles West and 115 miles East today on a house hunt.

So far so good and I could soon be moving to Dorset so fingers crossed from you all please.

Granny A Day 104 didn't get forgotten

I grabbed some white, orange and black wool from my wool stash basket and came up with this little number for today's' Granny Square.

I do hope that you like it.

The Crochet All in One Toy Pattern has been selling well so far (only available in the last 24 hours) and some GREAT feedback has been received so far, so thank you for all your purchases so far.

Hope you can return for more Crochet Fun tomorrow?

A Star Pupil & GAD 103

First and foremost is a special mention for my STAR PUPIL
NR
After only 2 lessons, she came to class with this today!

2 weeks ago she was a TOTAL beginner and wanted to learn to crochet a Multi Colour Granny Square.  I remember her original emails saying

"Looking forward to finding out if I can achieve this!!"

Well guess what - she did achieve it and she told me that it will continue to grow!
I love the colours too - White, Baby Blue & Fuchsia Pink.

So today we progressed to a Ripple Blanket

And look at this!  Ok so there were a few mistakes in the first row, but it was her first attempt and by the end of the Yellow row, continuing through to the red row, it was perfect.  Well done NR. You know who you are!!

Now for GAD 103

Once again, I have as many followers as I do GAD's so thank you for joining - is this starting a trend??  Will I have 104 followers tomorrow???

I really did use scraps of wool today, as you can probably tell by the colours!!
Don't laugh will you?

Now for the All In One Toy Pattern - I will make it available for sale NOW
So please check the Patterns For Sale tab above or CLICK HERE

GAD 102 & News on the All in One Crochet Toy Pattern

It's Day # 102 of Granny a Day and I have 102 Followers today, so thank you to my new Follower!

Now today's Granny A Day started with me tipping out my Wool / Yarn stash basket, so that I could make use of the little scraggy bits hiding at the bottom!

(Yes I did tidy them all up afterwards!!)

And here it is - GAD 102
A white centre, a light blue 2nd row, a slightly darker blue 3rd row and a bright fuchsia pink used in the join as  you go 4th row.

The photo doesn't really show the blue colours well, which is why I took 2 photos, in the hope that one would show the colours better than the other

Now for more news, the news you've all been waiting for......

Yes, the All In One Crochet Toy Pattern is now ready - I spent most of the day typing it up and double double checking  what I had written etc. and I have finally finished.

I have written the All in One Toy Pattern for use as a Bear, Lion & a Rabbit
All I have to do now is get it online for sale, so that will probably happen tomorrow.

So if you are interested in this very very very little sewing involved toy pattern then check back with me tomorrow!

Oh did I mention that I have written it for both Left & Right Handed Crochet People???

100 days of Granny A Day and more......

Welcome, welcome, welcome to you all & thanks for popping by to read my Crochet Blog - I really do appreciate all the page views, comments and tweets that I get - all complimentary I am pleased to add!

Well today is Day 100 of Granny A Day
And here is the said Granny Square
White, Dark Green, Yellow and Dusky Pink

Here are all 100 squares
and I am thrilled to bits with how great this blanket is looking already.

I will soon be running out of space to lay it out for photographing purposes - LOL

So today was a VERY rainy day all day and apart from another shower dodging dog walk, which wasn't as successful as yesterday, as we did all get a little wet, I spent the WHOLE day at crochet!

It was a very productive day too, as I managed to crochet a Bunny Rabbit
but not only that,
I managed to write it all down too!
Now all I have to do is write it all out and then I can let you know that the pattern is ready.

So here is Bunny

I made it with extra large Bunny feet
and
Long floppy ears

The only thing that I had to use a needle for is to sew on the crocheted nose and embroider the mouth

Even the little Bunny tail was crocheted in rather than sewn on

I love the large Bunny Feet

And the really floppy ears

So, thanks to Lion on the left, I have managed to write up an All In One pattern for a Lion, which is on the right and a Bunny so far

Next is Bear & Pig and maybe even a Frog!!

The possibilities are endless

Thanks for reading and remember to let me know if you will be interested in this pattern by leaving a comment

It really is an All In One Sensation and I promise you that the only things you have to sew is the face.
(oh and in the case of the Lion - his mane)

GAD # 99 & All In One Toy update

Today - Easter Sunday - has been a very dark, gloomy and damp day here in this part of Surrey, so we battened down the hatches and stayed indoors, apart from a very brief shower dodging  dog walk!

So the rest of my day was dedicated to finishing of down sizing the Lion pattern to approximately half the size, crocheting the finished article & making a start on writing up the pattern.

I am hoping that the All In One Toy pattern, which can be adapted to make a Lion, a Pig, a Bear or a Rabbit, will be a big hit, as it involves VERY little needle work, apart from adding a face to the said toy!!  All the Legs, Arms & Ears etc. are crocheted in without having to join with a needle!

So here is the finished Lion

*the only items that were sewn in with a needle were the face & the mane*

He's the one on the right and the one I made previous (full size without the totally All in One) is the one on the left.

I am so excited!
I will continue to write up the pattern of the mini lion tomorrow and also make a Bunny / Pig / Teddy Bear version too!

Now for GAD # 99

I must admit that I totally forgot about it until just a few moments ago, so I grabbed a ball of yellow (thinking Easter, Chicks etc) yarn and made a plain Granny Square to mark the occasion of Day 99.

More tomorrow Folks

Happy Easter to you all

GAD #98 and Inspiration 4 a new Pattern!

Granny A Day # 98 is this little Pink, Yellow, Beige & Lime Green number

After taking a lesson this morning, which I really enjoyed taking PLUS my pupil brought in her finished bear, so I took a little photo shoot of her bear and all the bears that  I have made....

Aren't they FAB?  Well done JC and Hello Blue Bear!

After that, I threw myself into writing a new pattern and taking pictures as I go along the process.

My inspiration came from the Lion that I made yesterday, however what I want to do is to make a TOTALLY
ALL - IN - ONE
TOY

Not only will it be an All - In - One Toy but you will be able to adapt it to make a Lion, a Bear, A Rabbit, A Pig - whatever really - the possibilities are endless!!

So this pattern will mean that you can crochet without stitching arms, head and legs etc. on after making the main body

I have also reduced the size that it's current Lion (see yesterday's post) is working up too, so I am trying to reduce the whole thing by half and incorporate the All-in-One thing into it.

I am currently half way through, so I have 2 legs, already joined on to half a body with no sewing (so no needle) involved - only a crochet hook.

One calamity was that I ran out of a certain colour wool in mid pattern and I had to rush off to the Wool Shop to try to match the yarn up - I didn't have the band and I knew that it was an old / odd ball that I was using but I managed to get a very good match - phew!!

Would this interest you if I were to PUBLISH this pattern?

The more YES 'es I get the more inspired I will be, so if you read this blog then please let me know if this is a pattern that YOU would like to see and be able to crochet for yourself.

Please send me a comment.
