Days 124, 125 & 126 May Day Bank Holiday Weekend

I have enjoyed the Bank Holiday Weekend a lot!

I have added a few more rows to the Bitsa Blanket & continue to do so - when will I stop??

I also made a floral key ring especially for ....

My mobility scooter, which I have been practising on and off (and so has my husband LOL - just for the fun of it)

I made the most of the sunshine & crocheted in the sun

More flowers for decorating my scooter with!!

Day 121 - Floral Fun on a FAB day!

I received these lovely flowers accompanied by an equally lovely card today

They are from @luciejwill on Twitter to help decorate my mobility scooter.

This all makes me feel very warm and fluffy! People that I don't know showing such kindness - ahhhh

Wow! I am going to have any amazingly flowery & colourful scooter - it's going to be the talk of the village!!

Day 121 is this lovely green which completes another "square"

Day 119 = Flower Power!

Unfortunately I didn't have any time to make more Toe Cosy's today

But I did have time for Day 119 Square!!

And they will all be attached to the basket on the Mobility Scooter that I have bought to get me through the 8 weeks, when my leg is in plaster!

Day 59 + 2 Crochet Workshops!

Unfortunately I didn't take any photo's of my Beginners workshop this morning, but I can assure you that they did ever so well!

I taught them how to hold the wool correctly, a foundation chain, double & treble crochet with working in rows & getting straight edges.

It's an awful lot to take in in one go, so half way through we started again, from the very beginning with a slip knot and slowly slowly, it all started to fall into place.

Here are the intermediates!

In the first half of today's lesson I went through any stumbling blocks that each of them may have come across in recent projects, which all of them found very useful & in the 2nd half

We followed a symbols chart to get them all used to identifying the different stitches 

& we all made.....

 

Flowers!

 They all said that they  had enjoyed the workshop and that they had learnt something new!!

For Day 59 I chose a dusky pink that had been donated to me by one of my pupils.

I am not too sure if I had it in my colours already, but on closer inspection it's a very very slightly different shade so 

HOORAY

Day 10 - A pot of flowers!!

Apart from 2 dog walks and a quick trip into town to pay some cheques into the bank (and I mean a quick trip - woosh) I pretty much Crocheted All Day!

First I Crocheted Day 10 of my Square A Day

And then I crocheted a pot of 5 flowers to go into my Crochet Classroom

Another thing to inspire my pupils and a good example for a good few stitches and techniques!

GAD 234 - Another Flower GAD

I made the yellow flower in class today

following another pattern with my crochet pupil from my Birthday Flower Book

I keep on forgetting to take pictures of her work,which really is very very good considering the pattern is written in US terms & I am not being too over enthusiastic in helping her to follow the pattern

This is to try to make her read and concentrate on the pattern herself, although I do of course help her when she gets really stuck

So same as last week, I used the flower that I made as the centerpiece for today's GAD &  I love how colourful and sunny it is.

GAD 186 & Sunflowers!

It rained a lot today so I made Sunflowers!

My dog Scooby Doo bought me a book called

Crocheted Flowers by Nicky Epstein

It's written in US crochet terminology, but it's easy to translate, so I got to work on the Sunflower as it really stood out for me as I love Sunflowers

I am currently blocking it as you can see

The intention is to make a whole load of them & to put them on wired stems with some leaves and make a vase full!

Well that's the intention anyway.

As I mentioned earlier, it rained all day today so I made Granny A Day 186 as a representation of what I would have liked weather wise

Granny a Day #59, Crochet Pupils & Flowers!

First is Flowers!

My Crochet Student LW wanted to make flowers today, so together we followed a new flower pattern from the 100 flowers to knit and crochet book by Leslie Stanfield. 

She made the lovely Maroon one and I made the red one.

However, the important thing here is that she read the pattern!  She also used the chart to help when she got stuck on the pattern reading, as one does sometimes.

Well done LW.

Unfortunately my other lady couldn't make it today, so I hope that I see her next Tuesday.

Now for GAD #59

I chose these lovely warming colours - the ball to the right of the picture is Peach and not white.

And made this Square for my GAD blanket

I loved the flowers so much that I made a few more

And some more after that!

With a few leaves too!

I don't know what I am going to do with them yet - I am sure they will come in handy one day soon.
