Granny A Day 112 - Granny A Day 113

I am SO SORRY that I (a) didn't warn you that I wouldn't be posting on my blog yesterday and (b) that I didn't actually post at all.

Anyway here is both Granny A Day 112 & Granny A Day 113

I was determined to use scraps of wool for both squares and that's what I did!

I just about managed to start GAD 112 of as you can see - there wasn't a lot of scrap brown left over.

So this is Granny A Day 112

And this is Granny A Day 113

And this is (obviously) 112 and 113 together

Big Lion is now in his new home!  

Yes he was given away as intended to my friend and neighbour for her 40th Birthday Present.  I just hope that she liked him and that he likes her!

Day # 101 & Lions beat the Bunnies

This is Granny A Day 101 - the same number of Granny Squares to the amount of Followers I have - so this one is for all of you!!!

And, yes, the Lion as Beat the Bunny, not literally of course LOL

Let  me explain - I have had an order / commission for a Lion to be crocheted!!

I thought the Bunny would pip the Lion to the post as the Bunny is Super Cute

But then again lion is pretty cute too!

I took a crochet lesson this morning, I still don't know where the 2 hours goes each time, one minute I am saying "Hello" and "how have you got on this week" and the next thing it's "wow, we better finish up here, it's 5 too"

I do love teaching, I wish more people wanted to learn to Crochet - it's such a art / craft and so relaxing.

100 days of Granny A Day and more......

Welcome, welcome, welcome to you all & thanks for popping by to read my Crochet Blog - I really do appreciate all the page views, comments and tweets that I get - all complimentary I am pleased to add!

Well today is Day 100 of Granny A Day

And here is the said Granny Square

White, Dark Green, Yellow and Dusky Pink

Here are all 100 squares

and I am thrilled to bits with how great this blanket is looking already.

I will soon be running out of space to lay it out for photographing purposes - LOL

So today was a VERY rainy day all day and apart from another shower dodging dog walk, which wasn't as successful as yesterday, as we did all get a little wet, I spent the WHOLE day at crochet!

It was a very productive day too, as I managed to crochet a Bunny Rabbit 

but not only that,

I managed to write it all down too!

Now all I have to do is write it all out and then I can let you know that the pattern is ready.

So here is Bunny

I made it with extra large Bunny feet

and 

Long floppy ears

The only thing that I had to use a needle for is to sew on the crocheted nose and embroider the mouth

 Even the little Bunny tail was crocheted in rather than sewn on

I love the large Bunny Feet

And the really floppy ears

So, thanks to Lion on the left, I have managed to write up an All In One pattern for a Lion, which is on the right and a Bunny so far

Next is Bear & Pig and maybe even a Frog!!

The possibilities are endless

GAD # 99 & All In One Toy update

Today - Easter Sunday - has been a very dark, gloomy and damp day here in this part of Surrey, so we battened down the hatches and stayed indoors, apart from a very brief shower dodging  dog walk!

So the rest of my day was dedicated to finishing of down sizing the Lion pattern to approximately half the size, crocheting the finished article & making a start on writing up the pattern.

I am hoping that the All In One Toy pattern, which can be adapted to make a Lion, a Pig, a Bear or a Rabbit, will be a big hit, as it involves VERY little needle work, apart from adding a face to the said toy!!  All the Legs, Arms & Ears etc. are crocheted in without having to join with a needle!

So here is the finished Lion

*the only items that were sewn in with a needle were the face & the mane*

He's the one on the right and the one I made previous (full size without the totally All in One) is the one on the left.

I am so excited!

 I will continue to write up the pattern of the mini lion tomorrow and also make a Bunny / Pig / Teddy Bear version too!

Now for GAD # 99

I must admit that I totally forgot about it until just a few moments ago, so I grabbed a ball of yellow (thinking Easter, Chicks etc) yarn and made a plain Granny Square to mark the occasion of Day 99.

GAD #98 and Inspiration 4 a new Pattern!

Granny A Day # 98 is this little Pink, Yellow, Beige & Lime Green number

After taking a lesson this morning, which I really enjoyed taking PLUS my pupil brought in her finished bear, so I took a little photo shoot of her bear and all the bears that  I have made....

Aren't they FAB?  Well done JC and Hello Blue Bear!

After that, I threw myself into writing a new pattern and taking pictures as I go along the process.

My inspiration came from the Lion that I made yesterday, however what I want to do is to make a TOTALLY 

ALL - IN - ONE

TOY

Not only will it be an All - In - One Toy but you will be able to adapt it to make a Lion, a Bear, A Rabbit, A Pig - whatever really - the possibilities are endless!!

So this pattern will mean that you can crochet without stitching arms, head and legs etc. on after making the main body

I have also reduced the size that it's current Lion (see yesterday's post) is working up too, so I am trying to reduce the whole thing by half and incorporate the All-in-One thing into it.

I am currently half way through, so I have 2 legs, already joined on to half a body with no sewing (so no needle) involved - only a crochet hook.

One calamity was that I ran out of a certain colour wool in mid pattern and I had to rush off to the Wool Shop to try to match the yarn up - I didn't have the band and I knew that it was an old / odd ball that I was using but I managed to get a very good match - phew!!

Lion has a Face Lift, GAD and WIP's

Lots to blog about today!!

First and foremost is the Lion I made yesterday.

I wasn't 100% happy with the puffy cheeks 

They look good in the photo but up front is a different matter! 

It just doesn't look right, so I thought that I would make the smaller, but that didn't help, so I took them off all together and got my needle and black wool out instead

I also gave his hair another layer, a longer layer added to his mane

And I think he looks perfect now!

Now for WIP No. 1

This is the homework that one of my pupils has set me

We have agreed to get to the first stage which is the lower body of the cardigan which has to measure 11 inches.  I am currently at just over 6 inches, so not far to go!

I am really pleased with how it's turning out

And this is what is should look like when it's finished.

Next is WIP No. 2

It's taking forever to join all the motif's together

So I set my self a target of finishing off the front today

And here it is - the front is all joined up!

I sure hope it does!
