Day 71 Crochet Classes get extended - again!

I took 2 Crochet Workshops today.....

Intermediates

And Beginners.

Unfortunately I forgot to take photo's of the beginners class but we started to learn how to work in the round and it was a great sucess!

It's the last week of their 4 week course next week and guess what - they all want to come for more, so we have booked in another 3 weeks!!

So that's the 2nd time it's happened - that's YARNTASTIC!

I continue to promote Crochet in UK Crochet Terminology, I have not had a response from the BBC with regards to their "cock up" on Knitting & Crochet & I continue to strive to meet a few deadlines that I have looming on top of deciding whether it is worth my while to do a few more "craft" fairs this year.....

....I am off to re read String Theory Crochet's blog post again!

Yarntastic Day 15 - First Day of Group Classes

What can I say?

I had a YARNTASTIC day today.

It began with an Intermediate Group Class this morning

We made my 1,2,3 Squares

One was made using a 4mm hook and the other a 3.5mm hook

Notice the difference in size!!

It was a class where we revisited various techniques and covered or should I say tackled the "magic loop" and Join As you Go method.

Homework was set for next week and my ladies went away happy hookers!!

This afternoon I took a Beginners Group Class of 4 & fun was had by all.

We went through Foundation Chain, Double Crochet and Trebles too!

Homework was set and as they all wanted to learn to make Granny Squares by the end of the 4 week course, that's something that we will be covering next week.

I got a lovely email from one of the ladies this evening:

Ali, Thank you very much for this afternoon's class. I really enjoyed the whole event and thought you took us very clearly through the new experience. I'm hoping I can now do justice to my homework!I'm looking forward to next Tuesday

My idea from yesterday actually worked today as I "borrowed" a nice new colour from one of my intermediates, so Day 15 was created and in class too!!

Day 12 & Yarntastic Arrival!!

Here is Square 12 of my A Square a Day project.

I am loving the way this project is working out. I am sure I will run out of colours, as in a different colour for each day, but soon it won't matter as the blanket will grow and grow!

This is what arrived in the post today

YARNTASTIC!

It's been selected for a specific project, but it's not one that I can tell you about at the moment, so you will just have to keep on coming back to find out more. All I can tell you is that I am VERY excited.

And here is my Odd Granny Square Compilation.

As you can see in the picture below, I got caught out with 1 row granny squares to make & join as I go, but I wasn't going to let a little thing like that defeat me.

Day 8 + Wool Shopping Day!

Day 8 is in Pale Blue

I went wool shopping today! Yes, I was let loose in Shaftesbury without my husband in toe, which allowed me to find 3, yes 3 shops selling wools or yarns.

The first shop is my favourite - The Knitting Well and the owner has kindly put a poster up for me which gives details of my group classes starting next week. From here I bought 3 balls of Chunky wool.

The second shop is an old fashioned department store which I have walked passed before but never been in (because of husband) I knew that they sold wools as they had some in their window display, however what they had inside was even better!
