Day 24 - various Crochet Tales to Tell!

This lovely blanket was made by one of my old pupils from Surrey.

She finally finished it and sent me this lovely photo.

I am very proud of her!

This is one of my current pupils who decided to make herself this lovely colourful hat!

In beginners class today we revisited dc & tr's

Can you see how thier work looks "more relaxed" towards the top??

We always have fun in class

We lots of chat and tea / coffee & biscuits

One of my pupils bought this lovely Merino Spiral Granny Blanket from me today

So a very lovely Crochet Day today

And finally

Here is Square 24

As you can see I have managed to get another NEW colour into the blanket & this time it's Navy Blue!
When I went to the Blandford Knit & Crochet Club yesterday, I bought a small bag of yarn ends - perfect!

And finally (again)

What do you do with your yarn ends??

I fill up a large glass vase for a pretty & colour display

And when I need to stuff a toy or a small cushion I use these ends for the stuffing instead of buying the expensive stuff they sell in the shops!

Day #22 Granny A Day + Poncho Update

After creating the Granny A Day "end of week 3" photo collage, which you can see on the Granny A Day Page of this blog (see tab above) I made my Number 22 Granny Square in shades of Purple which I think has  turned out very well.

After 2 to 3 hours digging at my allotment (see my other Allotment Blog) I returned home to my Poncho.

My initial thoughts on making this, was to stick to the Deep Green, but then I began to think that it looked too plain, so I put out a few "feelers" on Twitter and a few Crochet or Knitting pals replied.

The overall consensus was to add a random mix of rows and colours, so that's what I did!

As you can see I have added a few rows of light brown, light cream and a biege

It's still not finished as it's not as long as I would like it yet, so I will continue in random rows and colours, until it is the length I would like it to be.

By the way it feels simply divine as I am using 100% Merino for this project. Lucky me!!

Then there is just the neckline to finish off and I will have my Poncho!

100% Merino wool

Before I get to the ultra luxurious subject of crocheting in 100% Merino wool, I would firstly like to share the following with you:

On my previous post, I posted a picture of these earflap hats that I made the other day.  Well, that night I dreamt that I had adorned each hat with a border in a contrasting colour to "jolly" them up a bit

I do hope you like them and more so the public do too when they come to the craft fair that's  in 2 weeks today!!

Now are you sitting comfortably?  100% Merino Wool - Soft, luxurious, simple divine and totally extravagant!

Combining a rich cream, a subtle pink and a soft caramel, this shawl was created, with loving care and total attention to detail, using 14 balls of 50g 100% Merino Wool.
