Days 295 & 296 - Busy me!

I was so busy with 2 lots of 2 hour workshops yesterday that I didn't have time to either make my Square A Day or Blog for that matter.

So I am going to catch up with it all for you now

In yesterdays evening class we made Granny Square to Join As You Go

With great results

And we did Colour Changes too!

With lovely results

My morning workshop ladies, who had their final class today

Which was very sad

Above is how organised one lady is with all her swatches & patterns neatly placed in a folder - a good start to Crochet work

We did loads that morning

As you can see they brought in loads of their previous homework for them to try out joining methods & colour changes too!

They've bought my book & some of them have even signed up for my online course so that they can continue to practice until they can return for their "Next Step Workshop"

Here is a perfect example of Join as You Go

Well done to you all

Day 266 is a BUSY BEE day!

First and foremost - and I am not complaining - the phone hasn't stopped ringing with enquiries for Crochet Workshops that are starting next week & in November.

For more information go to www.gethookedoncrochet.co.uk

Then the post arrived and there was this!

It's from
And I am going to make a pair of socks with it.
As it's DK I am going to design a pattern as I have only made socks with either 4ply or chunky wools before!!

I can't wait to get started and as soon as I finish my commission for Inside Crochet Magazine

Then this magazine arrived on my doorstep!

It's new & they have been kind enough to mention my online courses

Finally is Square 266 which I just about managed to make

After taking another enrollment to my to my eLearning Course 1 - The Basics

Now to get prepared for my lovely ladies who are coming to their Crochet Workshop tomorrow - it's all go in my Crochet World - YAY

The Crochet Queen has given a Regally Royal Book Review - Day 263

Gwen Blakey Kinsler aka The Crochet Queen & founder of the Crochet Guild of America, has very kindly reviewed the US version of my book
Crochet For Beginners who Want to Improve

You can read this wonderful review here

I feel very proud that someone as influential as Gwen has given me her time and my book this glowing report.
I thank you.

Now for more Crochet eLearning!

This young mans Dad "SB" signed up for my course the other day, so this cheeky chappy with the lovely smile decided that if his Dad could do it ....

Then so could he!

Just look at his GREAT double crochets!

He is my youngest pupil

I think this Father & Son Team are going to hit the Crochet World with a bang - don't you?

Now for Crochet Class news

PB has finally finished her bunting.  YAY.

She took on board my suggestion of using ribbon to replace the normal Crochet Chain, however she improvised when she ran out of room, so she crochet "loop ends" - Great thinking.

And she added buttons too which really gives it a lift.

We then went on to the Crochet Sock pattern she's been following from my book

Her stitching is beautifully neat and consistent

And she always pays attention to detail

She "practiced" putting in the heel with not a lot of my help

And she's done a great job

She's taken it home to finish off the leg length and re - do the heel under her own steam.

Finally Day 263 - once again the yarn is thanks to Vicky Stott.

Day 261 & more news from Crochet eLearning!

"AD" aka Floozy only signed up for my eLearning course a short while ago & look at the photograph that I got sent today!

Isn't that just amazing?

I love the colours & a lot of thought has gone into it.

It's been made with Crochet Love!

SB (remember his work from yesterday?) has now progressed to Treble Crochet

What a great job he is doing - his stitches are so neat & tidy.  He's realised that he's missed a few edge stitches but what important is that he's really practicing and not giving up.
That pleases me a lot.

Remember me telling you about the balls of wool I was sent yesterday?

Well I chose my first one to use on my Twitter Blanket today

I couldn't resist the multi coloured ball with brown, white, orange & red

And it looks FAB in situ

Sunday, 8 September 2013

Days 249, 250 & 251 - Crochet Cushion covers & Rectangle Crochet Cushion Cover!

I decided to put my feet up in front of the TV

And transform a boring old cushion that I had

With one of my recently purchased 200g balls of wool

In variegated colours

I love the "shades of Autumn" that it oozes

I now have to go and buy some more wool as I have another cushion to "transform"

And I am also up to date...

with my Twitter Blanket Squares

So that's good news!
