I stayed in the cool of my main room / office today and finished off one of the Christmas commissions today.  I am so pleased with the end result that I can't wait for the magazine editor to see it.

I spent the rest of the day writing up the pattern on my computer, ready for checking & sending off.

Now I can start the next one!! Hooray - Bah Humbug!

Day 199 - Male Model!!!!!

As you can see - he's modelling the hat that I made for him

My husband went to London on a business trip so took that hat with him rather than me sending it in the post and this is the photo he too for me.

He needs to re shape the horns but apart from that it looks GREAT!

If you remember yesterday, I posted about Crochet & Technology

Well this was my desk today - well most days in fact

As I am working on some commissions for magazines, I jot down my patterns as I crochet in my filofax (which has a crochet cover - if you want the pattern see the "Patterns For Sale" tab above) and then I have to transfer that to a word document to email across to the magazine editors once the piece is finished.

If I am writing a pattern for myself to sell, then I tend to photograph my progress as I go, so that I can give the pattern a "photo guide" and I then have to put the photo's from my camera to my computer - more technology!!

And more technology is the way we use the internet to share across the globe!

Days 197 & 198 Hooked on Technology

I am sorry that I didn't blog yesterday - I was having trouble accessing the internet yesterday evening - I don't know why.  I did a few "cleans" of my computer and all seems OK now.  Give me a Crochet Hook & some wool rather than technology any day.

However saying this, I have come to realise that being a Crochet Teacher, Designer & Book Writer, one needs the internet & all the technology that it comes with now more than ever.

For example, I got an email from Amazon this morning which promotes my book!!

Yes that's it there, right on the top of the list.

I wonder how many people get this email?

I also contact & communicate with Inside Crochet and  Make & Craft  & other magazines via emails when I am submitting commissions & suchlike.

I order my wool on the internet from Yarn and Craft Shop

And my eLearning Courses are all internet based

I also use emails to communicate with my Crochet Students & of course I have my Facebook pages:

Day 196 - Teaching & Mandala's!!

KPK came for a lesson today & we decided to turn the tables

She read the pattern & told me what to do!!

This was excellent practice for her

We chose Winky's pattern in Simply Crochet magazine

It was a good pattern to follow - well written and with photo tutorials too - just like I do in my eLearning Courses & my book (see side panels for more on both of these)

So we both made lovely Mandala's

I continue to add to my Jumper WIP.  In this heat it's very demanding to work in Pure New Wool!!

The weekend of Days 194 & 195 - Merry Christmas!!

It has been the longest heatwave here in the UK since 2006 & what am I doing??

I am designing, mocking up, writing & making Christmas items for a magazine!

Yes Christmas!!!!

I won't say what I've made at this stage but I am sure you'll love them.

It was good to stay inside and keep cool at the same time as it was so HOT out there.

I still found time to make days 195 & 196 which has completed another "square"

So in Christmas Traditional Colours I used 

Green

&

Red

And here's the blanket so far which is 15 squares by 13 squares

Looking good!!

Day 192 - Pink Parcels are Dispatched!!

Pink Parcels being dispatched means only one thing!!

Crochet Commissions are winging their way to their new owners - YAY

Amongst the many parcels is one that's going to Crochet Camp & one that's going to Make & Craft Magazine

So it's been a busy day, including a Post Office trip.

I am pleased to say that sales of my book

are going really well, 

as are my sales of my Crochet eLearning Course, so all is good in my Crochet world as I am teaching the world to crochet !!
