New Crochet Class in Dorset - Day 309

The lovely Patrice from Yarn Over Pull Through, has kindly agreed to let me blog post on her fantastic Crochet Website

You can read "How I got Hooked on Crochet" here

Yesterday evening I taught "The Sisters"

After only a few lessons they are beginning to read, understand and begin to create Crochet works of art from patterns...

I broke them in gently by taking them through a pattern featured in my book
"Crochet for Beginners who want to Improve"

They found the pattern, written in my unique "Traffic Light Teaching System" easy to understand & they are now prepared to follow more patterns which we will do in their next lesson!

Oh I nearly forgot to tell you - they both loved my new hat from Issue 47 of Inside Crochet mag designed by Claire Montgomerie - they both tried it on and said that they would love to make one

They also liked my Pom Hat - available in Issue 45 of Inside Crochet & said they wanted to make this one too!

Can you tell I love Crochet Hats??

This morning I had my Brand New Beginners Class

So I thought I would make a clear sign to hang on my gate so that they could easily find me

And here they all are after having mastered the "key" basic -
The Foundation Chain

I say "key" as I know that by learning to make a Foundation Chain correctly, you are learning the techniques - how to hold the wool correctly, the movement needed, eye to hand co ordination & stitch identification - all important for learning the stitches that are yet to come

Well done ladies!

And finally

My Twitter Blanket is growing & is nearly at it's end as we are on day 309 already.
