I went foraging in the woods where I walk my dog every morning, for chestnuts today
Aren't the colours just fabulously Autumnal?
Some of these chestnuts are now roasting on an open fire - I kid you not!
In half an hour they will be ready and my and hubby will be eating deliciousness

I am so thrilled to have found this lovely part of Dorset to live in. Only a few minutes drive away is Piddles Wood, where my husband & I take our dog Scrumpy for his morning walk. We walk about 1 mine - Scrumpy must do about 5 or 6 by the time he's chased falling leaves, squirrels, deer & a twig that cracks under foot. It's especially beautiful in Autumn
Here's a little video clip that I took this morning to share with you all.
Here's another link for you:
It's a guest blog post by my American friend Sara Duggan

Do you remember that I told you about my Triangle Scarf in Issue 47 of
Inside Crochet Magazine?
And I also mentioned that I was making this FAB slouchy hat by Claire Montgomerie in the same issue?
Well I made that one
Then I made this one
And then I made one to match my scarf
And I totally love this hat so much!
(as well as the scarf of course)

A great and useful book that has been written for beginners. It has helped me to understand patterns and the diagrams are clear too. I would recommend anyone beginning with their crochet to purchase this book and feel sure they will refer to it time and time again.

I learnt to crochet in February and after 5 months was still doing granny squares and simple stuff as the patterns I saw were 'beyond' me. This book is helping bridge my gap in skills and giving me the confidence to try stuff. With clear pictures and easy to follow instructions it's a must. There are blank pages after each chapter I am already scribbling notes in! Thanks Ali. I recommend this

This new book from Ali Campbell is just what I have been looking for. With my limited crochet skills and the easy to follow patterns I anticipate hours of pleasure. Just started the chunky headband, looking good so far! I know if I get stuck I will be able to refer to Ali's on line lessons.
A must for a Crochet Library, 30 Oct 2013
This review is from: Crochet for Beginners who want to Improve (Kindle Edition)
This book has been written specifically for beginners who wish to improve their crochet skills and techiques, however I am sure that the more advanced crocheter will also pick up useful tricks and tips from this book.
Ali has written this book with clear and simple instructions. The pattern instructions are explained using a clever crochet traffic light system and step by step pictures.
If you know someone that has just start crocheting this is the ideal present for them this Christmas, I promised that they will not be disappointed!

As a newbie to crochet I had learnt the basics but was struggling to find projects/patterns that would help me improve. This book fit the bill perfectly.
It's a great 'next stage' book with understandable hints and tips, the projects aren't to daunting and it's great to be making things other than dishclothes!
