Days 33 & 34 & a Cute Doggy!

I am not an Amigurumi fan, but I couldn't resist this little cute Doggy in this months' Inside Crochet Magazine (pg 79 Issue 38)

So I made one to represent my dog Scrumpy

Who is black with a white chin, a white chest and a few white toes!

And here it is!

I turned it on its side so you can see the white chin & chest

And here you can see the white toes!!

Very cute

But as I am not a fan of Amigurumi I will probably not make another, unless of course I am asked!!

Now for my Tweet Blanket

I have added to new colour squares of 33 & 34, both donations from Twitters

I love the multi colour of this one

And the deep wine like colour of this one.

I am currently crocheting something for a friend whose birthday is not very far away, so I can't reveal anything about it just yet, just in case she reads this.

Granny A Day 142 & Elephants!

I needed to take my mind of things today as we are waiting to hear if we have exchanged on our property transaction today, so I started off by having a little tidy up as I have a lesson later.  Whilst I was tidying around I found this lovely pattern in a magazine.

Although I swore that I would NOT start another project, I thought, well this is only small and it won't take long, so I started - naughty me!

Unfortunately the pattern was a bit strange, but there was a website link available

And on the website was an Errata page, and on this page it said:

Unfortunately, there wasn’t room to include all the drawings that go with Noodle (I do like to write rather wordy patterns, don’t I?..)  so if you find yourself a bit stuck when it comes to making the legs and trunk, drop me an email and I’ll send the missing diagrams to you!

So I emailed Irene and she emailed me straight back

So Noodles was able to progress

And I am really pleased with the way she's turned out

She's a combination of Granny Square and Amigurumi

So you have to sew in a panel which you can just about see in the picture above and below, of scrap material, to stop the stuffing from coming out.

As I had the coloured yarns out already, I decided to use the same colours for today's Granny A Day 142

That way I will always remember what day I made Noodles on!

I also combed Twitter and Blogger for Granny A Day photo's and added them to the Granny A Day 2012 page - which I will go back to later today and again tomorrow and create a Collage to "celebrate" the end of Week 3 as Week 4 starts tomorrow!!

Now for Granny A Day 21 - I used my Glass Crochet Hook made by the 

Knit Glass Guy (see yesterday's post)

to make Granny No. 21

And here it is - the middle is a multi colour wool - the one that I used for my Draught Excluder Cosy

Then I used a Lime Green left over from my Filofax cover

& some Purple - I am not sure where that came from or was used for!!

I then decided to dedicate a new Crochet Covered pot to my lovely glass crochet hooks

I know it's a big pot for just 2 hooks but they deserve it

In fact I went as far as to line the pot - bottom and sides with some special wrap

so that they don't clunk and chip when I pull them out or when I put them back in

Back to my Granny Squares

At the moment they are big enough to drape on the back of my chair in my room

Did you notice the Amigurumi mobile hanging from my door handle......

Amigurumi (crocheted or knitted stuffed toy) is the Japanese art of knitting orcrocheting small stuffed animals and anthropomorphic creatures. The word is derived from a combination of the Japanese words ami, meaning crocheted or knitted, and nuigurumi, meaning stuffed doll.^[1] Amigurumi are typically animals, but can include artistic renderings or inanimate objects endowed with anthropomorphic features.
