As you can see I am really using up BITS of yarn that are in the bottom of my basket from the odd colours that I am using in these recent squares

Granny A Day 251 + New Pupil

Well I was VERY impressed with my new pupil today - the lovely CF whose Grandmother taught her how to crochet over 40 years ago, I think she said!

It was lovely to teach her and have a good chat at the same time.  

She came to me to "refresh" her crochet skills and after going through a few basic stitches like the foundation chain, slip stitch, double crochet, half trebles & trebles, we quickly progressed to Granny Squares as you can see!

I gave her some homework to do before her next lesson next week & I am looking forward to seeing her again!!

So I have cheated a little again as I have used my Granny Square in the picture above as my GAD 251

Cheating like this is acceptable!

My husband has gone to London for an overnight visit as he has a 10am appointment in the morning, so I have made this square with his favourite colour in mind

With a Yellow Centre and a Pale Green Frame - it's quite simply a Granny Square!

Granny A Day 248

The weather here was a little bit of this and that today.

We saw some grey skies and some sunshine.  As I did a 5 hour shift at work today I didn't really see most of it but as a positive thinking person I made a really warming, maybe Autumnal square for today's GAD

Yes it's definitely Autumnal with the orange frame

I am looking forward to seeing the leaves fall from the trees and Halloween creep up on us all!

GAD 247

The weekend is over and I have had a lovely day off in the lovely weather today

I actually got lots and lots done including, upgrading my phone to an iPhone at long last - it arrives next week so I am very excited, cooking a lovely dinner & just "pottering" after a very, very busy weekend.

So today is GAD 247 and here it is!

I hope that everyone is keeping up with their GAD's

I know that my blanket is looking FAB

I might even do the same next year but in a colour scheme

I had a really busy weekend with over 9 hours of overtime at work so I am really pleased that I managed to get all three done this weekend
