A cosy Shawl for the winter months

I decided to make a Winter shawl to sell at the Craft Fair in 3 weeks time & I fancied a triangular granny pattern, so I found one and got going!

It started off very colourful!

So I decide to continue in blue to "soften" the look a little

However I re introduced the pink and the green as a trim to the outer edge

Giving it a little "frill" as a finishing touch

I am thrilled with the end result !!

This is made in a very very very soft DK (however acrylic) wool using a 3.75mm hook

  1. It's lovely, I love the green frill, it finishes it off well. I wish I had your patience, I bought a beginners crochet set this time last year - I managed 4 flower squares!

  2. Thanks Claire - why not give crochet another go? I find it very therapeutic and calming.

  3. Wow, wonderful. My crochet has stalled at the joining-up stage. I have a pile -or two- of flower motifs but fastening them together is hard work!

  4. Love the shawl Ali. Would be cosy to just pop over shoulders on chilly evenings.

  5. Maryom - sometimes its better to join as you go - for example when you get 8 or 10 squares - that is if you have it "planned" in your head as to how you are going to put them together, then it's no so daunting.
Gwen - thank you that's great feedback
